Whether stacked, shelved or left leaning against the wall, the artist’s use of precise forms and a reductive colour palette elicits a double take that invites viewers to pause and reconsider how their initial reading of common visual cues can often be deceptive. <em>Inventory</em> is a survey exhibition that recontextualizes a selection of works made between 2010-2015, ranging from sculptures that first appeared in the solo exhibition <em>Never Odd or Even</em> to new and more recent works that formed parts of the artist’s installation <em>House & Home & Garden</em>. Responding to the unique circumstance of the gallery, <em>Inventory</em> is an opportunity to explore new pairings and relationships between the artist’s accumulated lexicon of objects. Filmed over many months and titled after the street address of a house that the artist lived in for several years, the push and pull of the exchange between the mirror images is alternately tense, funny and engrossing. Expressing the artist’s full range of interests while cleverly encapsulating nearly 20 years of artmaking, <em>108 Leyton Ave</em> is a revealing portrait of physical and emotional endurance.
