Satsan was a key figure and strategist in the landmark Delgamuukw-Gisday'wa case, heard before the Supreme Court of Canada in December 1997 and which remains a transformational decision regarding Aboriginal title and self-government in Canada.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Avenir Book";color:#323232">Satsan recently served two three-year terms as the elected BC Regional Chief for the Assembly of First Nations and is currently a Senior Associate at the Centre for
First Nation Governance. Satsan was also Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Public Administration at the University of Victoria, and taught for several years in the University’s Administration of Aboriginal Governments Program. He currently spends
his time travelling from his home on Haida Gwaii to First Nations across British Columbia and Canada, offering his advice and assistance on the affirmation and recognition of Aboriginal rights, title and Treaty rights.</span><span style="font-family:"Hoefler Text";color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
