INFORMATION
It's not easy being a woman in the 19th century,
particularly if your family thinks you're
incapable of being a “lady”. Knowing the family
fortune is being manipulated away, knowing her
beloved birds were exterminated for being “a
nuisance”, knowing there was absolutely nobody to
trust, Lizzie Borden finally snaps — turning an
axe against those who wronged her. Did she commit
murder? Or did her parents end themselves?

CHARACTERS
(All characters are age range 25+)
Miss Lizzie, doubled to Bridget in the past (F,
large role) — Bridget has an Irish accent.
The Actress, doubled to Lizzie in the past (F,
large role)
Emma Borden, Lizzie’s older sister (F, small role)
Andrew Borden, Lizzie’s father (M, medium role)
Abigail Borden, Lizzie’s stepmother (F, medium
role)
Henry, Abigail’s brother (M, medium role)
Dr. Patrick, a friend of the family (M, small
role) — Dr. Patrick has an Irish accent.

MANDATORY
DATES
Actors must be available for all performances
(September 27, 28, 29, October 4, 5, 6, 11, 12,
13) as well as tech week and the full dress
rehearsals (September 22, 23, 24, 25). Other
mandatory dates include the first read-through
(either July 14 or 15) and the poster run (TBD).

AUDITION
PROCESS
Auditions will be held at KWLT’s rehearsal studio,
44 Gaukel St. in Kitchener (across from the bus
terminal downtown).

We
recommend that you prepare a monologue of your
choice, either comic or dramatic. Monologues will
be available at the auditions if you don’t wish to
prepare something. You may be asked to deliver
your monologue in a different style and/or to read
portions of the script. Your audition may take up
to 15-20 minutes.

To
sign up for an audition slot in advance, fill out <a
