<div style="margin: 0px 0px 1.5em; padding: 0px;">It’s 1970. Rudi stands outside his father’s study in Paraguay for the first time in seven years. After a long absence, he’s been compelled to return to his family’s home. But Paraguay isn’t his home: he was
born in a small hospital in Berlin in 1945, just as his father was losing the war.</div>

<div style="margin: 0px 0px 1.5em; padding: 0px;"><i>East of Berlin</i> has three characters: Rudi (20s M), Sarah (20s F), and Hermann (20s M). Note that the play contains both male-female and male-male sexual content as well as partial nudity; all characters
engage in sexual content.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 14pt; margin-bottom: 14pt;"><font style="font-family: Oswald, serif, EmojiFont;"><span style="font-size: 1.23em;"><b>Audition process</b></span></font></div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 1.5em; padding: 0px;">Auditions will be held at our rehearsal hall: <b>44 Gaukel Street, Kitchener</b>. We strongly encourage all actors to <a href="https://tinyurl.com/kwlt-berlin" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><font color="#327AC5">make
audition appointments</font></a>; walk-ins are welcome, but may have to wait for a break in the schedule to audition. Actors must be 18 years of age or older.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 1.5em; padding: 0px;">Please prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues no more than 2 minutes in length each. Be prepared to be redirected on one or both of the monologues. It is recommended auditioners have read the plays
their monologues are taken from. Monologues will be provided for those without.</div>
<div style="margin: 0px 0px 1.5em; padding: 0px;">Some actors will be invited to call-backs on November 14th at the same location. If you will be unavailable for call-backs, please let the director know during your audition.</div>
