ASSOCIATE LECTURER
(Fixed Term)
Position No. A192/93
 
 
The Department teaches, by seminar and workshop, the major periods of European
 theatre and aspects of modernist amd post-modernist drama as well as practical
 courses ranging from acting to non-theatrical uses of drama. The appointee will
 be involved in general undergraduate teaching, particularly in the first year
 course.
 
The selction criteria for the position are as follows:
 
ESSENTIAL
 
*               Academic qualifications in Drama or a cognate discipline
*               Teaching experience in Drama at a tertiary level
*               General knowledge of contemporary performance
 
DESIRABLE
 
*               Postgraduate qualifications in Drama or a cognate discipline,
                or, engaged in research towards.
*               Practical experience in some aspect of theatre
*               A special interest in Popular theatre and/or Drama in Education,
                and a knowledge of recent developments in cultural theory
*               An interest in any area presently taught within the Department
*               A demonstrable research record in any area of drama or theatre
 
GENERAL
 
The position is available for a 3 year fixed term period with the possibility of
 an extension to a maximum of 5 years.

SALARY
 
The salary range for the position is:
 
Associate Lecturer (Level A Academic)   -       $AUD28,700  -  38,950 per annum.
