We never see the mother in _Oublier_, by Marie Laberge (Vlb ed., 1987), although she is upstairs and the whole play is about her. We don't either in the script of _Psycho_, although the film suggests that she is secluded in the house up the hill and that a feminine voice we hear is hers. Andre G. Bourassa
