Subject: QUEER THEATRE CONFERENCE

The Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies of the CUNY Graduate Center will
present QUEER THEATRE: A CONFERENCE AND PERFORMANCE FESTIVAL, April 27-29
in New York City. The conference/festival will be co-hosted by the New York
Theatre Workshop and the Joseph Papp Public Theater.

QUEER THEATRE will be a three-day celebration and investigation of what makes
theatre queer--and of what makes queer theatre. Featuring panel discussions
that include scholars and theatre practitioners, along with play-readings and
performances, it is meant to appeal to a wide audience--theatre fans, artists,
and academics alike, all joining an in-depth look at the meanings and
magnitude of queer theatre. In sum: high theory, grand theatrics, and
dramatic dish.

QUEER THEATRE will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27th, and run through
Saturday, April 27th. Spaces are limited so early registration is strongly
encouraged. For more details and registration information, contact the CLAGS
office at 212-642-2923.
