FESTIVAL THEME: "Myth, Magic and Ritual"

F.O.O.T. is an annual, five day, multi-faceted conference and arts
festival encompassing film, performance, academic papers and workshops in
a spirit of cross-disciplinary exchange and exploration. The theme of
this year's F.O.O.T. is Myth, Magic and Ritual as it relates to the Arts.

The F.O.O.T. steering committee is now accepting proposals for
performance pieces which seek to explore, either technically or
thematically, any aspect of Myth, Magic and Ritual. As the maximum
running time of each performance is 50 minutes, those pieces which
require mimimal set and props are more likely to enjoy a successful run.
Preference will be given to original material and/or approaches which
culminate in a premiere production, and given that the Festival seeks to
bring together academics and practitioners, a questioning of those
barriers presently existing between these two groups is especially
encouraged. All performances will take place at the Robert Gill Theatre,
214 College Street, third floor.

Proposals should include your name, address, telephone number, fax number
or e-mail address, title of your piece, estimated running time, and a
short (5-10 sentences) description of your show and its relevance to this
year's theme. If available and if applicable, please include a copy of
your completed script.

Please mail your proposal to the address below. Note: retain a copy of
your proposal and script; F.O.O.T. cannot be held responsible for lost
items. For more information, please call Teresa Simm or Jamie Ridler at
(416) 978-7986, or e-mail fkern at epas.utoronto.ca.
