Have a look at the Appendix, "Important Writings on Acting, p. 543-571 in
Edwin Duerr's _The Lewngth and Depth of Acting_, 1962.  It has an excellent
bibliography on 18th-Century acting styles, English, French, German and Italian.
If you can't find the book (I think it's out of print) let me know; I have it.
