University of Alberta Dept of Drama invites applications for a position in
ACTING - full-time tenure track appointment up to the floor ofAssociate
Professor level with teaching responsibilities principally in the BFA acting
program.
 
Candidates shoud possess demonstrated ability and experience in improvisation,
text analysis and scene study, and be able to direct plays in periods and
styles from classical to contemporary.  Experience in a related area, such as
directing, voice, speech, dialect, movement, or mask, will be an advantage.
The successful candidate will have opporutnitiesto contribute to other reaching
areas of the department.
 
The dept.offers academic programs leading to BA, BAHonours and MA degress and
conservatory programs leading to BFA degress in Acting, design, and technical
theatre and MFA degress in directing and design.
 
Faculty are also required to engage in research and/or creative activity of
quality, and to assume appropriate administrative responsibilities.
 
Requirements:
MFA degree in theatre or equivalent in professional training/experience
Experience in teaching for the profession
Professional theatre experience
 
appointment effective July 1, 1996
salary - $39,230 - $48,736
