Subject: Theatre Passe Muraille Papers

To all CANDRAMA subscribers - FYI:

The season's final installment of the Passe Muraille Papers - a series of
talks on the state of theatre in Toronto sponsored by Theatre Passe
Muraille - will take place on Monday May 26 at 8 PM in the Backspace at
Theatre Passe Muraille (16 Ryerson Ave., 1 block east of Bathurst, just
north of Queen). The topic for the session is "Theatre and Community aka
Who Cares?"

The main speaker for the session is Hector Bunyan, a playwright and
Artistic Coordinator of Theatre in Exile. He will be presenting a
twenty-minute paper which will then be responded to by a distinguished
panel composed of playwrights Daniel David Moses and Jason Sherman, YPT
Artistic Director Maja Ardal, and Dr. Shelley Scott who just recently
successfully defended her thesis on the history of Nightwood Theatre at
the U of T Drama Centre.

Audience discussion will follow the presentations and then everyone is
invited to the TPM bar for drinks and more informal talk. It promises to
be an engaging and challenging evening of the sort of discussion that
happens all too rarely in this community (this list notwithstanding!),
especially in these times when all the talk seems to be about money (with
good reason, to be sure).

(Speaking of money,) Admission is $5. For more info, call Passe Muraille
at 504-7529.

Come one, come all! Tell your friends!
