info on Joseph William McConnell

All,

A playwriting student of mine (at Malaspina U-C) is looking for information
on her grandfather, Joseph William McConnell. As far as she knows, he was a
produced and published playwright in Toronto in the 1950s. Does anyone know
of him, or can anyone recommend books or other resources re that period
that she might check out?
