Lecturer
School of Theatre, Film and Dance Studies

The successful applicant will be required to undertake teaching and subject
coordination in Theatre Studies.  Expertise in one or more of the following
areas is sought:  performance theory; gender and performance; post-colonial
performance; theories of mask, mime and puppetry; and/or theatre
anthropology.  The appointee will be expected to make a significant
contribution to the research programs of the School and to teach within the
School's foundation subjects and the University's General Education program
Essential criteria:  experience in tertiary teaching; a PhD or equivalent
qualification or evidence of original research in one of the above expert
areas; an ability to liaise with staff and students; proven high level
written and oral communication skills; an ability to supervise honours and
postgraduate research and a knowledge of EEO/AA principles is required.
Desirable criteria:  an interest in dance studies and/or Australian theatre
and performance.
The position is tenured/tenurable and is available from 6 July 1998.  The
salary range is $47,260-$56,122 per year depending on qualifications and
experience.  Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a
condition of employment for this position.
