in creative/scholarly research which brings together theatre and mental

Subject: Health Researchers Needed

URGENT:

As a result of the announcement in the Federal budget of the creation of
Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the President of SSHRC, Dr Marc
Renaud, has asked me if the Federation could identify researchers in the
humanities and the social sciences who conduct research in health-related
areas.  This request stems from the anticipation that research funds will be
made available on an interdisciplinary basis.  The Federation, as you will
recall, intervened early on to ensure that the Medical Research Council's
proposal adopt the widest definition of health and it seems that the
lobbying has paid off.   Furthermore, Dr. Renaud wants to make sure that our
disciplines, the humanities in particular, are invited to participate fully
in the endeavour.  Please send us the most complete list of your
association's researchers doing work in a health related area by the end of
the month.
