Acting and Directing Position at McMaster

The School of Art, Drama and Music at McMaster University invites
applications for a ten month, Contractually Limited appointment in Acting
and Directing at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing September 1,
2000. Minimum salary at that time will be $35,936.

The successful candidate will have an M.F.A., or Ph.D. with specialization
in Acting or Directing, or its equivalent, and significant professional
experience in Directing. Equivalent professional training and experience
will be considered. Teaching duties will include undergraduate courses in
acting, and play direction.

Candidates with a demonstrable record of successful teaching at the
university level and a documented program of on-going research will receive
priority. Candidates should be willing and able to engage in
interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship within the School.
In addition to teaching and research, the successful candidate will be
expected to take an active part in the administration of the Drama program,
and to serve on various committees at the School level. Ability, experience
and interest in organizing theatre events will be considered an asset.
