Hello theatrephiles,

Located on the Fringe of the International Arts Festival in Wellington,
NZ was a very fine Canadian play, in a very fine production: "The
Terrible But Incomplete Journals of John D." by Guillermo Verdecchia,
performed by Michael Fenton, actor, and Francesca Mountfort, cellist,
and directed by Ches Skinner. The pacing, mood shifts, and ironic
insights contributed to a moving production. The audience was small,
but the appreciation huge.

PS. All of the new NZ plays enjoyed sold-out houses during the Festival,
and enthusiastic audiences. Plays on Maori themes and by Maori
playwrights were the highlight of the theatre events. The arts in NZ are
cooking.
