ARTS MANAGEMENT POSITION AVAILABLE

Rasik Arts is a unique non-profit organization devoted to the theatre of
South Asia, especially its contemporary theatre, and to the work of South
Asian writers around the world. We produce fully staged performances in
English, less formal staged readings, and host ‘Roundtables’ where actors
and non-actors alike meet to read a play. We also present workshops and
lectures. We are seeking a Senior Arts Manager on a part-time basis to
support the Artistic Director in the development of the organization’s
resources.

In collaboration with the Artistic Director, this Arts Manager will assume
non-artistic duties to ensure the efficient running of operations, develop
fundraising strategies, work with the volunteer board of directors, and
assume grant writing responsibilities.

We seek someone with experience in arts management, particularly in the
non-profit and charitable sector. Definite assets are a background in
project coordination, management, or producing. This person will be a
dedicated, self-motivated individual with strong organizational,
administrative, inter-personal and writing skills. Good knowledge of MSWord,
Excel, and internet necessary. Knowledge of the South Asian community is
desirable, but not necessary. Cultural sensitivity, openness and willingness
to learn are more important.

Applicants should send a CV with references, along with a letter expressing
their interest, and describing how their particular skills and experience
would suit this position and be of benefit to Rasik Arts. Final deadline for
applications is July 8. Mail to Rasik Arts, 406-580 Christie St., Toronto,
ON M6G 3E3, or FAX to 416-654-5129. For a more detailed list of
responsibilities, contact the Artistic Director at rasikarts at yahoo.com. For
additional background on Rasik Arts check www.rasikarts.com.
