THEATRE ARTS

The Theatre Arts Program of Thorneloe College at Laurentian University in
Sudbury, Ontario invites applications for a sabbatical replacement position
(ten month limited term appointment) at the level of Lecturer or Assistant
Professor, beginning 1 August 2002.  This appointment is subject to
budgetary approval.

The primary focus of the appointment is to teach the Theatre History core
course.  Other teaching assignments may be in the areas of Introduction to
Theatre, Directing, Theories of Drama or Canadian Theatre.  The opportunity
to direct a mainstage production may also be available.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. completed, or nearly completed, by the time
of appointment.  Other qualifications are demonstrated successful
undergraduate teaching, publications and evidence of continuing research.

The department offers a BA in Theatre Arts, a Certificate in Theatre
Studies, and an interdisciplinary BFA with a focus in theatre performance
or theatre production.

The letter of application should be accompanied by a curriculum vitae, and
the candidate should arrange for three letters of reference to be sent
