Tenure -Track Position - Drama in Education and Community

The University of Windsor's School of Dramatic Art seeks applications from
dynamic and experienced drama educators for a  tenure-track position within
the B.A. (Hons.) Program in Drama in Education and Community to commence
July 1, 2003 at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position is subject
to final budgetary approval.

The  School  of  Dramatic  Art  at  the University of Windsor is one of the
oldest  and best established theatre and drama programs in the country. Our
graduates  have made a mark in education and on both the world stage and in
film.  Currently  the School of Dramatic Art offers honours degree programs
in  Acting,  Drama in Education and Community, and Dramatic Art, and a wide
ranging  subscription season of plays through University Players that serve

Applicants  are  expected  to  have  completed a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Drama in
Education,  or an M.F.A. in Theatre Education, or a closely related area by
the date of appointment. Applicants must have demonstrated teaching ability
at  the  intermediate/senior  level and experience in the area of drama and
social  action.   The  successful  candidate  will  be  expected  to become
familiar  with  the Province of Ontario Arts Curricula.  In addition, it is
preferred  that the applicants have drama and/or theatre experience outside
of  a  classroom  setting.     Previous  experience of: university teaching
(especially  supervision  of  classroom  placements  and student individual
projects);   curriculum   planning  and  development;  teaching  additional
qualifications  courses;  as  well  as  the ability to teach in other areas
within  the  School are all considered assets. A demonstrated commitment to
research  and  publication in Drama in Education and Community is expected.
The  successful  candidate  will be largely responsible for the delivery of
courses  relating  to Drama in the Classroom and Drama in the Community and
will  work  alongside  other  faculty to develop new areas  in our program,
namely  a focus area in Drama/Theatre for Social Change within our existing
B.A.(Hons)  Program in Drama in Education and Community and new certificate
programs for professionals.

statements  of teaching interests  and creative activity interests;  sample
of  creative  and/or  scholarly  work;  sample  course  outlines;  teaching
evaluations  or other evidence of teaching effectiveness; and three current
