Don's hilarious and boldly theatrical new play takes us to the last
rehearsal and first performance of the 1857 melodrama The Frozen Deep by
Charles Dickens and Wilkie Collins. Set in Dickens' London home and
performed by his eccentric friends and family, The Frozen Deep tells the
story of two arctic explorers (played by Dickens and Collins) in love with
the same woman (played by Dickens' wife Catherine). As Dickens and Collins
furiously rewrite their script, two dangerous love stories play themselves
out - onstage and off.

The Frozen Deep was commissioned and developed by Nightswimming, and we're
thrilled that the National Arts Centre is offering this wonderful
opportunity to showcase Don's work at its ON THE VERGE Festival. Don and
Brian's most recent collaboration, Factory Theatre's production of Through
the Eyes, was recently nominated for three Dora Awards. We hope you'll be
able to join us for this exciting new play.

Featuring: Nola Augustson, Liza Balkan, Pierre Brault, Todd Duckworth,
Tracey Ferencz, John Koensgen, Krista Morin, Paul Rainville, Maureen Smith,
Greg Spottiswood.

ON THE VERGE takes place during the first annual Magnetic North Theatre
Festival.
