invites you to the Stratford Festival's
public workshop reading of
Ned Dickens' new play

JOCASTA

JOCASTA tells the epic story of Oedipus' mother and brings us face to face
with the source of of the curse which destroys her mythic family. From her
wedding to the tyrant Laius, through the birth and exile of Oedipus, to his
triumphant return 20 years later, and her marriage to the man she will soon
find out to be her son, JOCASTA boldly charts the life of this remarkable
woman.

This work-in-progress was originally commissioned and developed by
Nightswimming and has been workshopped by the Stratford Festival over the
past year. JOCASTA is part of a theatrical cycle called THE CITY OF WINE,
telling the story of Thebes and including the companion plays OEDIPUS and
CREON. Please join us!
