DEPARTMENT OF THEATRE

TENURE-TRACK POSITIONS

The Department of Theatre at Concordia University is embarking on an
exciting period of renewal and is looking for interesting combinations
of artists/scholars to assist us in developing a new vision.  We are
inviting applications for two tenure-track positions at the level of
Assistant Professor, pending budgetary approval.

Applicants should have experience and expertise in one or more of the
following areas: Theatre Performance, Theatre Studies, Theatre and
Development.  Cross or interdisciplinary competencies will be
considered a definite asset.  Candidates should have a completed or
nearly completed terminal degree (MFA or PhD), and/or in the case of
senior artists, a significant body of professional work.  Experience
and demonstrated excellence in scholarship and teaching at the
university level are highly desirable. Successful candidates will be
expected to develop and maintain productive research profiles leading
to external funding and/or collaborations, and possess administrative
skills and/or an energetic commitment to program development.

In the area of Theatre Performance, applicants will be required to
teach acting at both introductory and advanced levels.  We are
particularly interested in strong qualifications and teaching
experience in the areas of voice, speech, movement, and/or directing.

Applicants in the area of Theatre Studies will have expertise in some
combination of: history, theory, text analysis, directing, and/or
production. Successful candidates will possess strong qualifications as
a researcher, dramaturge, and/or director.
