Is Mrs. Pinkney a Canadian author?

Bonjour!
In March 1815, Mrs Young, who had left Montreal before the war of 1812,
played in _Americans in Algiers_ with Allen and Moore at Albany. I suppose
this play was _The Young Carolinians, or Americans in Algiers_, a play on
white slavery written by Maria Pinckney. See:

Who is Pinkney? She is not mentioned in the American Oxford Guide. But
there is a Maria Pinkney born in Orange who died during the American
Revolution and whose husband, remaried to her sister, settled in Quebec
where he died in 1813:

Would she be the one? Otherwise, where can I find information on this
drama author?
Merci d'avance, André G. Bourassa.
