Assistant Professor - Acting



The University of Lethbridge, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of
Theatre & Dramatic Arts invites applications for a full-time,
tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of
Acting effective July 1, 2005, and subject to Board of Governor's approval.



An MFA in the Arts or equivalent graduate degree is required along with
a demonstrated record of creative activity, scholarly research,
excellence in teaching, and professional theatre experience.  The
successful candidate will teach core courses in Acting along with other
courses according to program needs in the theatre performance areas in
which the candidate has experience and a demonstrated record of
success.  The candidate would also be encouraged to participate as a
director in the Department's season of plays.



The University aspires to hire dynamic, energetic individuals who have
demonstrated excellence in teaching, performance, and scholarship and
have potential to participate actively in the development and operation
of the Department of Theatre & Dramatic Arts in the Faculty of Fine Arts.



The Faculty of Fine Arts, housed in the Centre for the Arts with
state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, offers degree programs in
Music, Art, Drama, and New Media within the liberal arts education
context and focuses on excellence in teaching and research/creative

Interested candidates are asked to submit a letter of interest along
with a current curriculum vita, evidence of teaching expertise, a
statement of teaching philosophy, current research program and samples
of recent publications/performances as well as three letters of
reference, which assess teaching and research by the closing date,
February 16, 2005.
