We are in the last days for early registration for the 48th International Federation for Theatre Research/Fédération internationale pour la recherche théâtrale (IFTR/FIRT) conference. April 1st, this Friday, is the last day to get in on the reduced rate so if you are intending to join us for IFTR/FIRT 2005, you might want to take advantage of the early registration discount right away.  After Friday, the price goes up. If you are interested in attending IFTR but missed the deadline for presentations, please contact me -- we will soon be looking for people to serve as chairs of some of the panels. 

IFTR/FIRT "Citizen Artist: Theatre, Culture, and Community," will  be held June 26 - July 2, 2005, in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center on the campus of the University of Maryland,  College Park, just outside Washington D.C.  We have an exciting full week of programming Sunday to Saturday with 8 keynote addresses, over 150 international panel papers, over 160 international working group presentations, and 50 international New Scholars Forum participants, along with  performances, tours, and a visit to the Folk Life Festival on the National Mall. 

To register you need only go to our web site at: http://www.theatre.umd.edu/IFTR. You can register on line or you can download the form, print it and mail it with your payment to the address in the lower right hand corner. You can also look at our travel page, click the lodging tab and see a list of nearby hotels along with all the information you need to make a reservation. On campus housing is available as well. 

If you submitted a proposal by the deadline, you should have received an email invitation to the conference in the first two weeks of December. If you applied to a working group, you should have been contacted by its convener.  Those who applied to the New Scholars Forum will have received invitations from Professor Eversman by early February.

La période de pré-inscription au 48e colloque de la Fédération internationale pour la recherche théâtrale / International Federation for Theatre Research (FIRT/IFTR) touche à sa fin* Le 1er avril (vendredi) étant la date butoir pour bénéficier du prix réduit, autant en profiter pour vous inscrire dès maintenant si vous avez l'intention de participer au colloque. Après vendredi, les frais d'inscription augmenteront. Au cas où vous souhaiteriez assister au colloque mais auriez laissé passer la date d'envoi des propositions, merci de bien vouloir me contacter : nous allons bientôt faire appel à des personnes pour animer certaines séances. 

Le colloque, centré sur le thème « L'artiste citoyen : théâtre, culture et communauté », se tiendra du 26 juin au 2 juillet 2005 au Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, sur le campus de l'Université du Maryland, à College Park, dans la proche banlieue de Washington D. C. Du dimanche au samedi, toute la semaine s'annonce aussi riche que stimulante : 8 discours en séance plénière, plus de 150 communications de chercheurs internationaux, plus de 160 présentations internationales au sein des Groupes de travail et 50 participants venus du monde entier pour le Forum des nouveaux chercheurs * sans compter les spectacles proposés, les visites organisées et la possibilité d'assister au Festival Folk Life sur le National Mall. 

Pour vous inscrire, il vous suffit de vous connecter sur le site Internet : http://www.theatre.umd.edu/IFTR. Vous pouvez soit vous inscrire en ligne, soit télécharger le formulaire, l'imprimer et le poster * avec votre paiement * à l'adresse indiquée en bas à droite. Vous trouverez également sur le site des informations sur le transport et le logement * et notamment une liste d'hôtels situés à proximité du lieu du colloque, avec tous les renseignements dont vous aurez besoin pour effectuer votre réservation. 

Si vous avez soumis une proposition de communication avant la date limite et qu'elle a été acceptée, vous avez dû recevoir par courriel, au cours des deux premières semaines de décembre, une invitation au colloque. Si vous avez manifesté de l'intérêt pour un Groupe de travail, vous avez dû être contacté par le/la responsable. Enfin, ceux et celles qui ont souhaité participer au Forum des nouveaux chercheurs ont dû recevoir une invitation de la part de Peter Eversman au début du mois de février.
