For those in the Montreal area:

A WORKSHOP with Serge Limbvani (Boyokani Company ? France/Congo-Brazzaville)

Director, comedian, musician, singer, dancer, and choreographer Serge 
Limbvani has facilitated theatre workshops for over 15 years in France 
and across the world.

THE ART OF THE STORYTELLER :
Narration, dancing, singing, and music.

For whom ?
Professional artists, students, and advanced amateurs.

What ?
The training focuses essentially on theatre, music, dancing, and 
singing techniques, inspired by African culture.  Its goal is to give 
all-round training to comedians and dancers in order for them to 
acquire the skills of switching from comedy to tragedy, from narration 
to dance and singing, and vice-versa while they perform.

How ?
16 hours in total including :
-theatrical interpretation;
-dancing and singing
-theatre, music, dancing, and singing, all at once                      
   Volet 1 ? Theatre Improvisation : Each participant will tell a story 
of their choice drawn from classical or contemporary texts Narration : 
1) From classic and contemporary texts
2) How to tell a story better, using the African storyteller?s technique

Volet 2 - Dancing-singing-music
Theatre is a discipline that draws more and more from different art 
forms In particular, it can incorporate dancing, singing, and music.
To develop vocal techniques drawing from griot chants and a capella 
singing, as well as dance movements  (African and classical, 
Modern'Jazz, etc.)

WHEN ?                                      Friday, April 13 from 16h00 à 20h00
Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 
p.m. to 5 p.m.

FEE
100$
75$ for students

This bilingual  workshop will take place at the MAI (3680, rue Jeanne-Mance).
