The 2007 LMDA (Literary Managers & Dramaturgs of the Americas)
Annual Conference will be held in Toronto, June 21-24, 2007.

The Conference Brochure is now available for downloading on the
LMDA website:

http://www.lmda.org/blog/Conference/Conference2007

We have great speakers from across Canada (from Wendy Lill on the east
coast, to Yvette Nolan in Toronto, to Estelle Shook from Caravan in the
west) plus guests from Mexico, the UK, Germany, and, of course, the US. Some
of the participants not listed on the brochure include dramaturg Stephanie
Graeve from Bonn, opera dramaturg Kelley Rourke from New York, Jennifer
Brewin from Ottawa, and Jonathan Meth from Writernet in the UK and many
more.

LMDA's University Caucus will be programming two sessions of special
interest to academics, and there are also sessions directed toward students
and early career dramaturgs.

We're very pleased to open the conference with a performance of 365 Days/365
Plays, and to have Suzan-Lori Parks and Bonnie Metzgar joining us for a
session exploring impact of 365.

** We urge you to register for the conference and join or renew your
membership ONLINE. The Conference Registration page on the LMDA website has
all the details:

http://www.lmda.org/blog/_WebPages/ConferenceRegistration2007.html

-- You may also renew your membership by mail and register for the
conference by mail as well.

-- Note that the deadline for booking Ryerson University accommodations is
April 20th. When calling either the Holiday Inn or Ryerson, please mention
that you are part of a group booking for LMDA in order to get the conference
accommodation rate. You have to call the Toronto Holiday Inn directly; the
booking cannot be made online or via the hotel's international reservation
line.

More information is available on the LMDA website, including accommodation
information, and a venue map. It's a great week to visit Toronto: the
Toronto Jazz Festival and the City Roots Music Festival are running; Sunday
June 24 is Pride day and features one of North America's best and largest
Pride Parades; the Blue Jays are in town; and much more.

I encourage you to forward the brochure to your students and colleagues. And
I very much look forward to seeing you here in Toronto in June.

cheers,
Brian Quirt
LMDA President
Toronto.
