In the tradition of agit-prop theatre and National Film Board social action
documentaries, I have posted four videos on YouTube to remind mayors and city
councils that peacebuilding is also a civic responsibility:

Abolish Nuclear Weapons Day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-lEtznllWc
shows the large March 17 demonstration at the Toronto Peace Garden, describes
the devastation caused by a nuclear explosion over a Canadian city, and
includes the reading of Mayor David Miller's Abolish Nuclear Weapons Day
proclamation. The video asks viewers to email Mayor David Miller at
mayor_miller at toronto.ca to urge him to establish a permanent City Council Peace
Committee.

Mayors for Peace
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sla7MUIBCWg
features peace activist Phyllis Creighton presenting a peace declaration from
Mayor David Miller to Hiroshima Mayor Tadatoshi Akiba and speaking in Toronto
at the Peace Garden about the international Mayors for Peace 2020 Vision to
abolish nuclear weapons by 2020 and its current Cities Are Not Targets campaign.

Save the Peace Garden
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP8ChxvT7Vg
features the Hiroshima survivor Setsuko Thurlow at the 20th anniversary
celebration of the Toronto Peace Garden and asks viewers to email Mayor David
Miller at mayor_miller at toronto.ca to urge him to save the existing Peace Garden
at the entrance of Toronto City Hall from demolition.

Kinuko Laskey, Hiroshima Survivor
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYQrfwqx7zI&mode=related&search=
profiles the late Hiroshima survivor and Vancouver Peace activist Kinuko Laskey
through her own words and the recollections of her husband David Laskey.
