seeks to highlight the work of new scholars in the area of, but not limited
to, solo, ethnographic and autoethnographic performance, with a special
emphasis on the work of Anna Deavere Smith. This symposium offers the
opportunity to present work in progress and to share ideas with other
researchers. We are seeking papers that engage a broad range of topics in
theatre and drama studies including, but not limited to, performance
analysis, gender, politics, and cultural theory.

We are proud to announce that this year’s symposium will launch an
accompanying journal. This journal will provide a publishing opportunity
for some of the papers presented. The journal will include established
scholars but seeks to create publishing opportunities for new scholars and
relevant practitioners in the area of theatre and drama.
