Theo Dimson exhibit at Hart House Theatre

We have another exhibit that opens on Friday at the Hart House Theatre's
Macdonald Heaslip Walkway of Theatre History.

 

Distinctly Dimson: The Theatre Posters of Theo Dimson

 

Official Opening:

Friday January 29, 5pm to 7pm

(Theo will be in attendance)

                                                

 The exhibit includes  posters from Theo's long partnership with Toronto
Workshop Productions - and some for Tarragon, Hart House and the University
of Toronto.

 

Theo Dimson was born in London Ontario in 1930 and graduated from the
Ontario College of Art (now OCAD) in 1950. Although best known for his
posters, Dimson has produced commercial designs for Hollywood films, IMAX,
Lipton's fashion stores, Harrowsmith magazine, an enduring logo for Town
Shoes, Eaton's, stamps for Canada Post, and many others.  In addition to
illustrating and publishing various books, Dimson has also exhibited
internationally (Canada, United States, Poland, Finland, France, Germany,

Japan, China) and been awarded honours and medals of excellence from
countless organizations including the Canada Council.
