'Oil plays'?

Hello Karen

Edmonton's Theatre Network developed "Rig" a while back, which is still relevant.

Katherine Koller's most recent play is "Last Chance Leduc" which focuses on a young couple living in rural isolation with different hopes and dreams. Set in 1947, it portrays the personal consequences of the blowing of Leduc #1 at the beginning of Alberta's oil industry. It won the Alberta Playwriting Competition in 2013, and will have a staged reading at the Banff Centre for the Arts in September 2013.

Best,
Anne N.

Subject: 'Oil plays'?

Hello colleagues,

I'm wondering if anyone knows of plays or other theatrical responses to the current Prairies oil boom. I have already discovered Karen Hines' wonderful Drama: Pilot Episode from 2012. Are there others?

Many thanks in advance
Karen
