Dear Candrama colleagues,

The Performance Studies (Canada) Speaker Series
<http://performancecanada.com/events/performance-studies-canada-speaker-series-theme-moving-bodies/>
returns this month, with two lectures by world-renowned scholars: Jill
Dolan and Diana Taylor. If you're planning to be in the Toronto area
this month, please consider attending one or both talks.

*Jill Dolan **(Princeton) *will give a talk entitled "Moving the Body
Politic: How Feminism and Theatre Inspire Social Re-Imaginings" on
*Wednesday, February 19 at 2:30 pm *in the North Ballroom at the
Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen St. West). Her talk will explore how
feminist criticism/ commentary can profitably influence the "body
politic" and "move" people (emotionally) toward revised understandings
of social relationship in the public sphere. The talk is presented with
the support of the Walker Cultural Leader Series at the Marilyn I.
Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts at Brock University.

*Diana Taylor (NYU) *will deliver a keynote address on *Friday, February
28 at 10:00 am *as part of Panamerican Routes/ Rutas Americanas
<http://www.alunatheatre.ca/panamerican-routes/routas-2014/>, an
international festival on Performance and Human Rights in the Americas.
The event will be held in Ada Slaight Hall at Daniels Spectrum. This
talk is presented in collaboration with the University of Toronto's
Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies, and Brock
University's Department of Dramatic Arts.
