The “ESSAYS SECTION”<https://www.critical-stages.org/23/category/essays/> of the journal Critical Stages/Scènes critiques <https://www.critical-stages.org/23/> is dedicated to urgent issues related to theater and performance making, ways of thinking and writing about theatre and performing arts, ways of viewing and reflecting practices, pedagogies of performance and text analysis, practices of dramaturgy, interdisciplinarity, transcultural approaches and digitalization of communication in theatre and cultural performance, among other. The aim of the ESSAYS SECTION is to offer a broader practical, aesthetic, historical and theoretical outlet to those interested in recent developments in theatre and performance across national and disciplinary boundaries. The section is open to general submissions and is not theme-based.



Critical Stages/Scènes critiques is a peer-reviewed on-line journal fully committed to the Open Access Initiative.

Technical Editing – April/May 2022

Publication Date – June 2022

Articles are welcome in English and/or French

Writers of English or French as a second language are encouraged to seek help of professional proofreaders before sending their submissions for consideration.
