THIS WEEK: 'Reimagining Intimacy: Immersive and Participatory Performance in the Era of Covid-19’

Join us for four days of performances, workshops, laboratories and presentations exploring how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the place of intimacy in a broad range of immersive and participatory performance practices. All events are FREE to access and available online. 

PERFORMANCES: groundbreaking online performances from ZU-UK (London), Lundhal and Seitl (Stockholm) and This is Not a Theatre Company (NYC) are available free of cost from Dec. 14 - 16. ARTISTS FORUM: on December 14th, prominent professional artists from across Canada, the USA, England and Sweden discuss how Covid-19 has affected the nature of intimacy in contemporary performance. WORKSHOP: the online ‘Anonymous Animals’ workshop <https://reimaginingintimacy.ca/rii-anonymousanimals/> will explore fundamental performance questions of consent, autonomy, spectacle, and narrative, as well as the transformative possibilities of emotionally hacking online work spaces into places for play, fiction, and connection.

SYMPOSIUM: the event concludes with a full-day Symposium on December 17th, beginning with a Keynote presentation by Adrienne Wong and ending with a Scholars Panel with leading international researchers in the area of Immersive and Participatory Performance: Adam Alston, Josephine Machon and Gareth White.
