<p>This three-day conference will seek to explore the new developments
that characterize Anglophone drama at the dawn of the 21st century, at
a time when the label “English” is no longer perceived only as British
and American but also comprises the former colonies of the British Empire.
Theatre will be analyzed in its capacity to translate the many-faceted
societal and aesthetic changes that mark the beginning of the new millennium:
how does Anglophone drama reinscribe the complexities of postmodernism
and cultural pluralism in a age of transition? The conference will also
feature numerous paper sessions on English, American and postcolonial drama.
