Dear UKTW Subscribers,

The LITES2000 Drama Summer School will take
place at Dublin City University, from Monday 16th July to Friday27th July 2001,
inclusive. This is a course specifically designed for those of
eighteen and above, there is no upper age limit.

Throughout this two week
residential course participants receive professional intensive training in
movement, voice, improvisation, relaxation, acting and performance, with results
comparable to any British drama school one year course.

Laban, LeCocq, Berry, Fitzmaurice, Stanislavsky
methods are taught by accomplished working actors, directors, producers, etc.
One to one tuition is integral to this course, so regardless of current
experience, theatrical knowledge will be broadened and performance abilities
expanded.

A range of short lectures cover acting in the
modern world; screen technique; performance in training, etc. Plays studied
range from Shakespeare, Sheridan, Shaw, Wilde to Frank Mac Guinness, Mark
Ravenhill, Sarah Kane, etc. At the conclusion of each course, students have an
opportunity to present a performance of their `work in progress' before an
audience of teachers, fellow students and invited guests.

Each of our
tutors are specialists in their chosen field. For instance:

Patricia Leventon is an actress who has worked
with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal National Theatre, enumerable regional
theatre companies, as well as in film and TV.

Dr. Joan Melton, a voice tutor and coach and
is currently Head of Voice and Movement at Cal State University, Fullerton,
USA.
Gerard Reidy, has extensive experience of working in British theatre as
a lighting designer and director. He is the originator of the Progressive
Relaxation and Visualisation, method of stress control.
Professor Tim Quinn,
is a theatre director, college professor as well as an adjudicator of the
American College Theatre Festival.
Guest speakers on this course include
actors, directors, producers from the world of stage and screen.

Dublin
is famous for its theatres, museums and seats of learning, as well as breweries,
pubs and clubs. Surrounded by beaches and mountains, it provides the perfect
backdrop to discuss hopes, aims and ambitions, or just sit and look at the
day.

For further information, please checkout our Website at <A
