<BLOCKQUOTE cite="" type="cite"><BR> The Faculty of Humanities at Brock
University seeks a creative person with significant administrative
experience, leadership and fund-raising skills to become the first Director
of the new School of Fine and Performing Arts. The Departments of
Dramatic Arts, Visual Arts, Music, and representation for Dance from
Physical Education and Kinesiology make up the academic core of the
School. Professional affiliates of the School currently include Brock
Centre for the Arts, the Niagara Symphony, Theatre Beyond Words, Rodman Hall
Art Gallery, Niagara Artists Company, and Chorus Niagara. The Director
of the SFPA will report to the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and work
closely with the members of the Executive of the SFPA which includes the
Chairs of the Departments. This will be a non-academic appointment with
emphasis on managing communications, lending support to academic or creative
initiatives, community liaison, and building audiences. The Director will
generate new ideas and directions for the School as well as take
organisational responsibility for departmental events such as concerts, art
exhibits, dance works, and play productions.<BR><BR> The successful
candidate will have work experience within a cultural centre or organisation
or relevant University faculty or other University unit. He or she must have
interest in and some knowledge of all of the arts represented in the School;
demonstrable administrative skills and strong organisational skills; local
or regional contacts in arts organisations or a proven capacity to network
with such organisations elsewhere. He or she will work effectively and
collaboratively with the School's departments and affiliates, with the
Faculty of the Humanities and with the University. Experience in Public
Relations and good writing skills will be an asset. The Director will be
expected to devise templates and set time-lines for effective interactions
with the arts Community, to communicate to the region events sponsored by
the School and will also act as spokesperson for the
