This summer, Queen's University will be offering two half-credit
third-year courses at the Shaw Festival from July 6th to 23rd.
<br><br>
DRAM 319: "Modern Drama at the Shaw Festival" will be taught
mainly in the library of the Festival Theatre and will involve reading
and seeing productions of six plays (<i>Rutherford and Son</i> by Gita
Sowerby; <i>Ah, Wilderness! </i>by Eugene O'Neill; <i> Waiting for the
Parade</i> by John Murrell; <i>The Importance of Being Earnest</i> by
Oscar Wilde; and <i>Pygmalion</i> and <i>Man and Superman</i> by Bernard
Shaw). This seminar course will be led by Professor Craig Walker
and will feature visits from various directors, designers and actors from
the Shaw Festival.<br><br>
DRAM 339: "Special Topics in Performance II: Early Modern Scene
Study" is an acting course that will be taught on the ground floor
of the Court House Theatre, and will focus on dramatic texts drawn from
the mandate of the Shaw Festival. The course will be led by the
distinguished actor, instructor and member of the Shaw Festival Ensemble,
Patricia Hamilton.<br><br>
