style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">This international and interdisciplinary conference on
applied interventionist theatre, </SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">co-ordinated by </SPAN></FONT>David Bromley, will focus
on the role of contemporary theatre and performance as a vehicle for empowering
individuals and groups in relation to issues of social/political conflict and
resolution. Thinking through and across boundaries existing between academia and
the wider community, panels, performances and workshops will address areas such
as Theatre and the Regeneration of Communities, Theatre and the Homeless,
Theatre in Schools, Theatre and Therapy, Theatre in Prisons, Theatre and Public
Services, as well as Theatre and War. </P>

style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"></SPAN></FONT> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt">As a further point of focus, and as a challenge to the
potency and impact of interventionist theatre, the conference will also include
some papers/presentations concerning the role of television fact-based drama in
order to highlight key social and political issues of our time; in this
connection, the acclaimed television playwright, <B><SPAN
style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold">Jimmy McGovern</SPAN></B>, is one of the confirmed
keynote speakers.</SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt"></SPAN></FONT> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3><SPAN

now complete – with an exciting range of presentations having been accepted from
