<DIV></DIV>>>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
<DIV></DIV>>>
<DIV></DIV>>>Dance Collection Danse archives is pleased to inform you that our new Judy Jarvis Web Exhibition is now posted on the DCD web site.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<P>>>Judy Jarvis was an important artistic innovator in the history of theatrical dance in Canada. Before returning to Canada in the late 1960s to establish herself as a dancer, choreographer, teacher and artistic director, Judy was one of the last protégées of the legendary German modern dancer and choreographer Mary Wigman. </P>

<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>>>Dance Collection Danse archives maintains the Judy Jarvis Collection in Toronto. We invited one of the former members of the Judy Jarvis Dance and Theatre Company, Pamela Grundy, to curate a web exhibition about Jarvis' life and career. With biographical text from Carol Anderson's Judy Jarvis Dance Artist: a portrait, published by DCD in 1993, this exhibition features items from the Jarvis Collection including photographs, correspondence, audio recordings of Jarvis interviewing Wigman and video documentation of Jarvis' choreography.
