Liverpool Hope in partnership with Collective Encounters is hosting

this conference to explore the impact, relevance and current practices

of theatre for social change.<br>

<br>

The conference will bring together artists, researchers and scholars

to investigate key issues through practice and debate.<br>

<div>Keynote speakers will be</div>

<div>Alan Filewod (University of Guelph) who will relate performancel

and dramatic forms of Documentary Theatre to processes of political

intervention.</div>

<div>Tim Prentki (University College Winchester) will present a global

framework for discussing the role of theatre in both building and

sustaining communities.<br>

<br>

Delegates will attend Collective Encounters' documentary performance

which will animate a 'tinned up' street in north Liverpool with light,

sound, multimedia and live performance, and will have the opportunity

to discuss this model alongside other practical examples of

contemporary theatre for social change.<br>

<br>

This is a non-residential conference and delegates fees will be Ł115

(covering food, refreshments, attendance at papers, panels, workshops

and the performance).<br>
