applications for a tenure-track appointment as <b style='mso-bidi-font-weight:

Professor of Film and Theatre Studies</span></b>. Applicants should have a PhD,
publications or conference presentations in both disciplines, strong evidence
of an active program of scholarly research, and some experience teaching at the
post-secondary level. Expertise in Asian Cinema and/or Asian Theatre will be an

12.0pt'>The successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory and
senior undergraduate courses in film and theatre studies (Theory, Criticism,
Dramaturgy), to teach graduate courses in his or her specialization, to
supervise M.A. and Ph.D. theses, and to contribute to the development of new
curriculum. Professorial-stream faculty at UBC are expected and encouraged to
maintain a high level of scholarly activity and publication, and to provide
administrative services to the Department and the University.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

of the Programs has a national and international reputation for excellence,
strong undergraduate and graduate degrees, and is a significant centre for
creation and production. Opportunities for multi-disciplinary collaboration are
abundant, both within the Department and with researchers and scholars across
the campus. Film and Theatre Studies classes at UBC currently enrol over 800
