<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN lang=FR-CA><FONT face=Garamond>Les nouvelles technologies médiatiques ont largement et profondément transformées les cultures et les idéologies contemporaines, ayant une influence exponentielle à travers le 20<SUP>e</SUP> siècle et au début du 21<SUP>e</SUP>. Ces tensions évolutionnistes ont envahi la théorie et les pratiques théâtrales et ont eu des profondes répercussions sur celles-ci, peu importe les premières résistances durables. Pendant que les artistes et les théoriciens explorent l’intégration du média et de la performance ils, de façon simultanée, questionnent, réinterprètent, problématisent et défient les limites actuelles entre les formes d’expressions artistiques, les médias, les performances "sur scène" et enregistrées, et entre la "présence" et la représentation. </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN lang=FR-CA><FONT face=Garamond>Dans <I>Intermediality in Theatre and Interprétation </I>(2006), Freda Chapple et Chiel Kattenbelt définissent l’intermédialité comme “une force puissante et potentiellement radicale qui se manifeste entre les interprètes et les spectateurs; entre le théâtre, la performance et les autres médias; et entres les réalités […] De plus, l’intermédialité est situé entre plusieurs <I>cadres conceptuels</I> et <I>mouvements artistiques et philosophiques</I>. Ils argumentent que les effets de l’intermédialité comprennent « des nouvelles méthodes de représentation; des nouvelles stratégies dramatiques; des nouvelles méthodes de structuration et de la mise en scène de mots, d’images et de sons; de nouvelles méthodes de positionnement d’entités dans l’espace physique et temporel; des nouvelles méthodes de créer des relations temporelles et spatiales interdépendantes" (11-12). En plus de ces caractéristiques à la fois formels et conceptuels, par contre, l’intermédialité peut avoir le sens encore plus définitif d’une base stratégique en plus d’un positionnement culturel et idéologique. Selon Klaus-Peter Busse "l’intermédialité n’est pas une interprétation, mais l’action performatif" (<I>Intermedia : Enacting the Liminal</I> [2005] 264). </FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><SPAN lang=FR-CA><FONT face=Garamond>Cet numéro de TRiC/RTaC encourage l’exploration en détail de cette "force radicale" et de cet "action performatif" de l’intermédialité théâtrale au Canada par le biais de recherches portant sur les grandes variétés de formes, de territoires, de stratégies et de motivations. </FONT></SPAN></P></TD></TR>
