</B>BodySchool is an opportunity for<BR>
professional and pre-professional actors<BR>
and theatre makers to connect with craft<BR>
and creativity in a direct physical way.<BR>
This intensive will focus on three themes;<BR>
the actor’s work on their own body,<BR>
the physical and spatial relationships<BR>
between performers, and the craft of<BR>
creating original theatre in an embodied manner.<BR>
<BR>
This year’s guest instructor is <B>JILLIAN KEILEY</B>, the Siminovitch award-winning<BR>
director of festival highlight <I>Fear of Flight</I>. Her workshop<BR>
<I>Kaleidography: Patterns in the Theatre, </I>deals with chorus and ensemble based<BR>
work, utilizing musical scores as a meter system to which all other<BR>
stage action and text is synchronized.<BR>
<BR>
<I>The Dancing Word: Martial Movement and Voice for Theatrical Devisers</I>,<BR>
led by One Reed Theatre Ensemble director and University of Ottawa professor <B>DANIEL<BR>
MROZ</B>, presents a synthesis of the European<BR>
group theatre approach with work on movement, breath, voice and<BR>
partnering derived from the traditional Chinese martial arts.<BR>
<BR>
BodySchool will take place in the studios of the University of Ottawa<BR>
Department of Theatre, in downtown Ottawa and is presented by Magnetic<BR>
North Theatre Festival and The Department of Theatre of the University of<BR>
Ottawa.<BR>
