dans les environnements interactifs et expérientiels. Doubles, clones, avatars
ou agents d’interfaces, personnages de jeux vidéo et d’univers virtuels, ces
figures anthropomorphiques occupent un rôle de plus en plus important dans de
nombreux domaines, que ce soit par leurs applications artistiques (arts
médiatiques et arts de la scène, cinéma, interfaces multimédiatiques), ou encore
dans les secteurs de la communication, de la psychologie et de la sociologie.
Les travaux sur les personnages virtuels liés aux interfaces interactives ou aux
jeux vidéo se multiplient et mettent en jeu les questions du réalisme de la
représentation, de l’identité ou de la sociabilité. </SPAN></P>

interagissent-ils avec les sujets humains ? Qu’est-ce qui rend présent,
performatif et parfois inquiétant un personnage virtuel ? Quels sont ses apports
potentiels en regard des recherches actuelles dans les arts, le domaine des
communications et des sciences comme la psychologie, les sciences cognitives ou
la sociologie ? Quel rôle le personnage virtuel est-il appelé à jouer ? Quelles
caractéristiques partage-t-il avec les personnages incarnés par un acteur humain
et comment interagit-il avec eux? Comment affecte-t-il notre expérience et notre
engagement dans les mondes virtuels du cyberespace ? Comment s’interpénètrent
les mondes réels et virtuels par son intermédiaire et comment médiatise-t-il
