<p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:13.3333330154419px; text-align:justify"><i>The Philadelphia Theatre Research Symposium</i> is seeking abstracts for papers for our 9th annual gathering of theatre scholars. This year's PTRS seeks to highlight the work of
new scholars while <span style="background:white">exploring how playwrights reveal the otherwise hidden histories that are often not included in dominant historical chronicles.</span> This symposium offers the opportunity to present work in progress and to
share ideas with other researchers. We are seeking papers which engage a broad range of topics in theatre and drama studies including <span style="background:white">but not limited to the work of Sarah Ruhl, historical revisionism, gender and history, race
and history, and mythology and contemporary playwriting</span>. Participants’ papers will be eligible for publication in <i>Praxis: The Journal for Theatre, Performance Studies and Criticism</i>.<b></b></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:13.3333330154419px; text-align:justify"><i>Abstracts of 250 words or less should be submitted along with a brief bio to PTRS@villanova.edu.</i></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:13.3333330154419px; text-align:justify"><b>Performances:</b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="font-size:13.3333330154419px; text-align:justify">This year PTRS also seeks submissions for performances in the areas of <span style="color:rgb(34,34,34); background:white">the work of Sarah Ruhl, </span><span style="background:white">feminist <span style="color:rgb(34,34,34)">historical
revisionism, gender and history, race and history, and mythology and contemporary playwriting</span></span>. Submissions for ensemble performance projects are limited to one hour. Submissions should include a description and a video, or a video link for the
performance. Artists will be responsible for their own tech. </p>

scholars but seeks to create publishing opportunities for new scholars and interesting practitioners in the area of theatre and drama.</p>
