<p> The Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies (CDTPS) and the Transitional Year Program (TYP) at the University of Toronto invite applications for a three-year contractually limited term appointment. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence on July 1, 2015. </p>

<div>Applicants must have earned a PhD in Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies, Indigenous, Aboriginal or Native Studies, or a cognate humanities discipline by July 1, 2015. Candidates must be able to teach a selection of courses in Indigenous Theatre of the Western Hemisphere, Aboriginal or Indigenous studies including Aboriginal or Indigenous theatre, as well as Aboriginal or Indigenous Research Methodologies. </div>

<div>Some knowledge of an indigenous Western Hemisphere language is considered an asset. The successful applicant must have strong communication skills as well as demonstrated success in developing students’ mastery of a subject and of the latest developments in the field. Experience working with students who have experienced personal or social barriers to entry into post-secondary programs is highly valued. </div>

<div>The successful candidate will hold a joint appointment in the Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies (51%) in the Faculty of Arts and Science and the Transitional Year Program (49%) and will teach in the Centre, the Transitional Year Program as well as the Aboriginal Studies Program. </div>

<div>Evidence of excellence in teaching, demonstrated by letters, teaching evaluations, dossier and/or syllabi, and strong evidence of research of an internationally competitive caliber, demonstrated by publications in leading journals in the field, presentations at significant conferences and strong endorsements by referees are required. </div>

<div>Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.</div>
