 class that meets on Mondays from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The class capacity is 80. The first class meeting is scheduled for September 14<sup>th</sup>, there is no class on Thanksgiving Monday (October 12<sup>th</sup>), and the two final class meetings are Monday

December 7th with Tuesday December 8th scheduled as a make-up day for October 12th.

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="color:black">Course Description:</span></b><span style="color:black"> A survey of Canadian theatre in the present day, incorporating a study of notable works, outstanding artists and other figures in the arts world and arts

 organizations. The course includes an analysis of conditions prevailing on the theatre in various regions of the country and invites students to take stock of their own future in the theatre or elsewhere.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Ph.D. in Theatre Studies and/or performance studies. Extensive knowledge of Canadian theatre including the kinds of theatre being made in Canada today, the issues and challenges facing Canadian theatre makers,

 the history behind the issues, and the current state of discourse surrounding Canadian theatre. Disciplinary expertise in feminism, lesbian and gay studies, queer theory, post-colonial studies as applied to the field, and a proven track record of relevant

 publication in both national and international peer-reviewed journals. Successful teaching at the university level as well as demonstrated ability to both determine and utilize pertinent resources within the university and wider community as applied to teach

 both course content and research and writing skills. Active involvement in both national and international professional academic associations in the field of theatre and performance will be an asset.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
