Doreen Brownstone: Still Working After 90, a documentary about Canada's oldest working actor* will be screening on Wednesday, June 15th at 8:00 pm (doors at 7:30) in the Crest Theatre Green Room, hosted by the Pal Place Residents’ Association (PPRA).

Admission: $5 donation to the PAL Place Residents Association

Funny, touching, and true, the 55 minute documentary "Doreen Brownstone: Still Working after 90" can be enjoyed both as a character documentary and as a unique and personal window into the history of Canadian theatre and film over the last 60 years, (never mind the importance of swimming).
Includes interviews with Gordon Pinsent, Seana McKenna, Barbara Gordon, Stephen Eric McIntyre, Frank Adamson and more, including the late, great Tom Hendry and Lillian Lewis, as well as clips from several lost and not so lost Canadian films and TV shows.

For those to whom Doreen is a new name, one quick reference: she appeared appeared opposite Gordon Pinsent in the very first production of the very first regional theatre in Canada: A Hatful of Rain, directed by John Hirsch, at the Manitoba Theatre Centre (founded by Hendry and Hirsch) in 1958.
She also taught swimming for over 50 years.

*Doreen was born in September of 1922. If anyone knows of an older, still working, Canadian actor I will happily amend this statement.

Follow this link to watch the 90 second trailer:
https://vimeo.com/112885949
