<b>Description: </b>“Intention – Interruption – Antigone” examines Swiss-German theatre-maker Milo Rau’s
<i>Antigone in the Amazon</i> (2023), which uses Sophocles’ <i>Antigone</i> as a lens to explore the daily – at times intersecting – struggles of Brazil’s Landless Workers’ Movement (MST) and the country’s Indigenous populations. This talk situates and explores
the project’s fractured creation process considering its various interruptions, the solidarity developed with local partners, and the accidents and incidentals at the core of
<i>Antigone in the Amazon</i>’s dramaturgy.</p>
